Definition
Amelanistic describes an organism (often a reptile, amphibian, or fish) that produces no melanin, so black/brown pigment is absent and the animal appears unusually pale; other pigments may remain, so it is not always pure white.
Amelanistic এমন জীবকে (বিশেষত সরীসৃপ, উভচর বা মাছ) বোঝায় যার দেহে মেলানিন উৎপন্ন হয় না, ফলে কালো/বাদামি রঞ্জক অনুপস্থিত থাকে এবং প্রাণীটি অস্বাভাবিকভাবে ফ্যাকাশে দেখায়; তবে অন্য রঞ্জক থাকতে পারে, তাই সবসময় পুরো সাদা নাও হতে পারে।
