From French alcohométrie (19th century), formed from alcool (“alcohol”) + -métrie (“measurement”), ultimately from Greek metron (“measure”).
ফরাসি alcohométrie (উনবিংশ শতক) থেকে; alcool (‘অ্যালকোহল’) + -métrie (‘পরিমাপ’) অংশ নিয়ে গঠিত; -métrie শেষ পর্যন্ত গ্রিক metron (‘মাপ/পরিমাপ’) থেকে এসেছে।

Alcohometry is the science or practice of measuring the alcohol content (alcoholic strength) of beverages or other liquids, typically using instruments such as an alcoholmeter or hydrometer and often expressed as ABV (alcohol by volume).
আলকোহোমেট্রি হলো পানীয় বা অন্যান্য তরলে অ্যালকোহলের পরিমাণ/শক্তি (অ্যালকোহলিক স্ট্রেংথ) পরিমাপের বিজ্ঞান বা প্রয়োগপদ্ধতি; সাধারণত অ্যালকোহলমিটার বা হাইড্রোমিটারজাতীয় যন্ত্র দিয়ে মাপা হয় এবং প্রায়ই ABV (ভলিউম অনুযায়ী অ্যালকোহল শতাংশ) হিসেবে প্রকাশ করা হয়।
