From Sanskrit ‘punar’ (again) + ‘ukta’ (said), literally “said again,” hence “repetition/redundant”

Definition

বক্তৃতা, লেখা বা কথাবার্তায় একই ভাব, তথ্য বা শব্দের অনাবশ্যক পুনরাবৃত্তিকে ‘পুনরুক্ত’ বলা হয়; এটি অলংকারশাস্ত্রে সাধারণত দোষ হিসেবে গণ্য, কারণ অর্থ না বাড়িয়ে বক্তব্যকে ভারী ও একঘেয়ে করে
