বাংলা ‘পরিস্কার’ শব্দটি সংস্কৃত ‘পরি-’ (চারদিকে/সম্পূর্ণভাবে) উপসর্গ ও ‘স্কৃ/স্কার’ (পরিষ্কার করা, মুছা/ঘষে উজ্জ্বল করা) ধাতু/রূপ থেকে গঠিত; অর্থে ‘সম্পূর্ণভাবে পরিষ্কৃত/মলমুক্ত’ এবং পরে ‘স্পষ্ট’ অর্থেও প্রসারিত
