সংস্কৃত ‘প্রদক্ষিণ’ শব্দ থেকে; ‘প্র’ (বিশেষভাবে/সম্যক) + ‘দক্ষিণ’ (ডান দিক) — অর্থাৎ ডানদিক দিয়ে ঘোরা বা ডানদিকে রেখে পরিক্রমা
From Sanskrit ‘प्रदक्षिण’; ‘pra-’ (fully/forward) + ‘dakṣiṇa’ (right side), meaning moving/circling with the right side toward the revered object

পূজা, ভক্তি বা শ্রদ্ধা প্রকাশের জন্য দেবতা, মন্দির, গুরু বা কোনো পবিত্র বস্তুকে ডান দিক রেখে ঘড়ির কাঁটার দিকে এক বা একাধিকবার ঘুরে পরিক্রমা করা; এই পরিক্রমাকেই ‘প্রদক্ষিণ’ বলা হয়। এছাড়া সাধারণ অর্থে ডানদিকে ঘোরার ক্রিয়াও বোঝায়
