Bengali ‘প্লাস্টার’ is borrowed from English ‘plaster’, ultimately from Latin ‘emplastrum’ and Greek ‘ἔμπλαστρον’ (a coating applied to wounds), later also used for the building material sense

Definition

প্লাস্টার বলতে সাধারণত (ক) চুন/জিপসাম/সিমেন্টজাত মিশ্রণ বোঝায় যা দেয়াল-ছাদে মসৃণ আবরণ (প্রলেপ) হিসেবে লাগানো হয় এবং (খ) চিকিৎসায় ক্ষত ঢাকতে বা ভাঙা অস্থি স্থির করতে ব্যবহৃত প্লাস্টার-ব্যান্ডেজ/কাস্ট বোঝায়
