সংস্কৃত ‘অনুত্তর’ (অনু- + উত্তর) থেকে; এখানে ‘অনু’ নঞর্থে/অভাবার্থে ব্যবহৃত, অর্থ ‘উত্তর নেই’
From Sanskrit ‘अनुत्तर (anuttara)’; in this Bengali sense, ‘anu-’ functions with a negative/privative force, giving the meaning “no answer / unanswered.”

যে প্রশ্ন, অনুরোধ, চিঠি বা বক্তব্যের কোনো উত্তর দেওয়া হয়নি বা যার উত্তর অনুপস্থিত—তাকে ‘অনুত্তর’ বলা হয়; সাহিত্য-ভাষায় ‘অজবাব/উত্তরহীন’ অর্থেও ব্যবহৃত
That which has not been answered—such as a question, request, letter, or statement lacking a reply; also used in literary style to mean “unanswered/without response.”
