সম্ভবত বাংলা দেশজ ‘করা/করানো’ (কাজ সম্পন্ন করা) ধাতুর সঙ্গে ‘অ-’ নঞর্থক উপসর্গ যুক্ত হয়ে ‘অসম্পন্ন/অসম্পূর্ণ’ ভাব থেকে কথ্য অর্থে ‘আধপোড়া/কাঁচা’—এভাবে গঠিত
