যার অঙ্কুর নেই—অর্থাৎ যে উদ্ভিদ থেকে স্বাভাবিকভাবে নতুন কুঁড়ি/শাখা গজায় না; আবার রূপক অর্থে যে কিছুর স্পষ্ট উৎস, পূর্বসূত্র বা ধারাবাহিক জন্মপরম্পরা নেই, তাকে ‘নিরঙ্কুর’ বলা হয়
