যে ভূখণ্ড শহরের অন্তর্গত বা শহরকেন্দ্রিকভাবে গঠিত—যেখানে জনঘনত্ব, অবকাঠামো ও নগরসেবা (যেমন পরিবহন, পানি-বিদ্যুৎ, স্বাস্থ্য, শিক্ষা) তুলনামূলকভাবে বেশি—তাকে নগরাঞ্চল বলা হয়
