বাংলা ‘মাথা’ (শির/মুণ্ড) এবং ‘কাটা’ (কেটে ফেলা) শব্দের যৌগিক ব্যবহার; আক্ষরিক অর্থে ‘মাথা কেটে ফেলা’ থেকে অর্থ বিস্তৃত হয়ে ‘শিরশ্ছেদ’ বোঝায়
