লক্ষ্মী বলতে প্রধানত হিন্দু ধর্মের ধন, সৌভাগ্য ও সমৃদ্ধির দেবীকে বোঝায়; আবার ‘লক্ষ্মী মেয়ে/বউ’ ইত্যাদিতে শ্রী, গুণ, গৃহকর্মে দক্ষতা ও সৌভাগ্যের প্রতীক হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হয়; কথ্য রূপে ‘লক্ষ্মী’ দ্বারা সম্পদ বা ভাগ্যকেও ইঙ্গিত করা হয়
