সংস্কৃত ‘বাদন’ (বাদ্ ধাতু ‘বাজানো/ধ্বনিত করা’ থেকে) শব্দ থেকে উদ্ভূত; বাংলায় সংগীত ও বাদ্যযন্ত্র-সংক্রান্ত অর্থে ব্যবহৃত

Definition

বাদ্যযন্ত্রের সাহায্যে সুর ও তালের মিল রেখে বাজানো, অথবা গীত/নৃত্যের সঙ্গে সঙ্গত করে সংগীত পরিবেশন করার কাজকে ‘বাদন’ বলা হয়
