‘আইন’ (বিধি/নিয়ম) + ‘বিদ্যা’ (জ্ঞান/শাস্ত্র) — এই দুই বাংলা/সংস্কৃতমূল শব্দের সমাসে গঠিত; অর্থাৎ আইন সম্পর্কে শাস্ত্রসম্মত জ্ঞান
