Definition
Representationalism is a theory saying that what we see, think, or feel involves mental representations that stand for objects and states of affairs in the world; perception is mediated by these representations rather than being a direct grasp of external reality.
प्रतिनिधित्ववाद एक सिद्धांत है जिसके अनुसार हम जो देखते, सोचते या महसूस करते हैं, उसमें मन के भीतर बने “प्रतिनिधित्व” (मानसिक निरूपण) शामिल होते हैं जो दुनिया की वस्तुओं और स्थितियों के लिए खड़े होते हैं; अर्थात् हम बाहरी वास्तविकता को सीधे नहीं, बल्कि इन प्रतिनिधित्वों के माध्यम से अनुभव करते हैं।
