From Latin postulatum (“a demand, claim; something requested”), from postulare (“to ask, demand”), later used in mathematics/logic for an assumption accepted without proof.
लैटिन postulatum (“मांग/दावा; अनुरोधित बात”) से, जो postulare (“माँगना/अनुरोध करना”) से बना; बाद में गणित/तर्कशास्त्र में ‘बिना प्रमाण स्वीकार की गई मूल मान्यता’ के अर्थ में प्रयुक्त।
Definition
Postulates are fundamental assumptions taken as true without needing proof, used as starting points for arguments or for building systems (especially in mathematics, logic, and science).
पोस्ट्युलेट्स (मूल स्वीकृतियाँ) वे आधारभूत कथन/प्रस्ताव हैं जिन्हें बिना प्रमाण के सत्य मान लिया जाता है और जिनके आधार पर तर्क, चर्चा या किसी प्रणाली (विशेषकर गणित, तर्कशास्त्र और विज्ञान) का निर्माण किया जाता है।
