From New Latin Pomaceae, formed from Latin pomum (“fruit; apple”) + -aceae (a standard suffix for plant family names).
न्यू लैटिन Pomaceae से; यह लैटिन pomum (अर्थ: ‘फल; सेब’) + -aceae (वनस्पति कुल-नामों में प्रयुक्त प्रत्यय) से बना है।
Definition
Pomaceae is an older taxonomic name once used for a group of pome-bearing fruit trees (apples, pears, quinces) now usually placed within the rose family (Rosaceae), often as the subfamily Maloideae (or within Amygdaloideae).
Pomaceae एक पुराना वनस्पति वर्गीकरण-नाम है, जो कभी पोम (pome) फल देने वाले वृक्षों (सेब, नाशपाती, बही आदि) के समूह के लिए प्रयोग होता था; अब इन्हें सामान्यतः गुलाब कुल (Rosaceae) के अंतर्गत, प्रायः उपकुल Maloideae (या Amygdaloideae के भीतर Maloideae) में रखा जाता है।
