Definition
meta-Toluidine is the meta (3-) positional isomer of toluidine, i.e., an aniline ring bearing a methyl group (CH3) at the meta position relative to the amino group (NH2); it is used chiefly as an intermediate in the synthesis of dyes, pigments, and other organic chemicals.
मेटा-टोल्यूइडीन टोल्यूइडीन का मेटा (3-) स्थितीय समावयवी है, अर्थात् एनिलीन वलय पर अमीनो समूह (NH2) के सापेक्ष मेटा स्थान पर मिथाइल समूह (CH3) होता है; इसका उपयोग मुख्यतः रंगों/पिगमेंट्स तथा अन्य कार्बनिक रसायनों के संश्लेषण में मध्यवर्ती (इंटरमीडिएट) के रूप में होता है।
