“Flier” most commonly means a flyer/leaflet or a person involved with air travel (pilot or passenger). It can also mean anything that flies (like a bird/insect). In technical contexts it may refer to a part of a spinning machine, a component of a flying buttress in architecture, the person being lifted/thrown in acrobatics/cheerleading, a stray shot off the main group, a straight stair step, a female kangaroo, a jump, or a risky venture.
