From face (the front/surface of an object) + value; in finance it came to mean the amount printed on securities or currency, and by extension the ‘apparent’ meaning of words.
face (किसी वस्तु का सामने/ऊपरी भाग) + value (मूल्य) से बना; वित्त में यह मुद्रा/प्रतिभूतियों पर छपी राशि के अर्थ में प्रचलित हुआ और आगे चलकर शब्दों के ‘ऊपरी/प्रकट’ अर्थ के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होने लगा।
Definition
Face value is the value that is officially stated or shown (such as the amount printed on a banknote, bond, ticket, or stamp) and, more generally, it also means accepting words or information as they appear, without assuming hidden meaning or deception.
फेस-वैल्यू (अंकित/नाममात्र मूल्य) वह मूल्य है जो आधिकारिक रूप से बताया या किसी वस्तु/दस्तावेज़ पर छपा होता है (जैसे नोट, बांड, टिकट या टिकट-टिकट), और व्यापक अर्थ में इसका मतलब किसी बात को बिना छिपे अर्थ या धोखे की आशंका के, जैसा दिखे वैसा ही सच मान लेना भी होता है।
