From Latin expostulāre (“to demand, complain, remonstrate”), from ex- (“out”) + postulāre (“to ask, demand”).
लैटिन expostulāre से, जिसका अर्थ “मांग करना/शिकायत करना/तर्कपूर्वक विरोध करना” है; यह ex- (“बाहर/पृथक”) + postulāre (“पूछना/मांगना”) से बना है।
Definition
To expostulate means to argue or speak seriously and firmly to someone because you think they have done something wrong; it is more like earnest reasoning than angry shouting.
