मध्य अंग्रेज़ी executioner से; यह execution से बना है (पुरानी फ़्रांसीसी execution से, जो लैटिन exsecutio ‘किसी कार्य को अंजाम देना/कार्यान्वयन’ से) + -er (कर्ता/एजेंट सूचक प्रत्यय)।
Definition
Executioners are officials or persons who perform executions ordered by lawful authority (historically by beheading, hanging, etc.); more broadly, it can refer figuratively to agents who ruthlessly carry out harsh punishments or destructive policies.
