यह शब्द पुरानी फ़्रेंच 'desclamer' और लैटिन 'dis-' (अलग/दूर) + 'clamare' (पुकारना/घोषणा करना) से आया है; अर्थ विकसित होकर किसी दावे/जिम्मेदारी को औपचारिक रूप से दूर करने या अस्वीकार करने के भाव में प्रयुक्त होने लगा।
Definition
To disclaim something means to say clearly and often officially that you do not accept it, are not responsible for it, or do not claim it (e.g., a statement, an action, ownership, liability).
'Disclaim' का अर्थ है किसी बात/दावे/जिम्मेदारी/स्वामित्व को स्पष्ट रूप से (अक्सर औपचारिक या कानूनी रूप से) अस्वीकार करना या उससे अपना संबंध/उत्तरदायित्व न होने की घोषणा करना।
