Definition
Culicines are mosquitoes belonging to the subfamily Culicinae, including genera such as Aedes and Culex; in medical and vector biology they are commonly contrasted with anopheline mosquitoes and many species can transmit diseases like dengue, Zika, chikungunya, yellow fever, and West Nile virus.
Culicines मच्छरों की उपपरिवार Culicinae (कुलिसिनाए) के सदस्य होते हैं, जिनमें Aedes और Culex जैसी वंश (genera) शामिल हैं; चिकित्सीय कीट-विज्ञान/वेक्टर जीवविज्ञान में इन्हें अक्सर anopheline मच्छरों से अलग करके बताया जाता है और इनकी कई प्रजातियाँ डेंगू, ज़ीका, चिकनगुनिया, पीत ज्वर तथा वेस्ट नाइल वायरस जैसी बीमारियाँ फैला सकती हैं।
