अंग्रेज़ी callosity से; मूल लैटिन callositās (अर्थ: कठोरता) से, जो callōsus (अर्थ: कठोर-त्वचा वाला) से और वह callus (अर्थ: सख़्त त्वचा/कैलस) से निकला है।
Definition
Callosities are either physical patches of thick, hard skin formed by repeated friction/pressure (often on hands or feet), or figuratively a hardened attitude showing little sympathy.
Callosities का अर्थ या तो त्वचा के मोटे, सख़्त हिस्से (कैलस) से है जो बार-बार घर्षण/दबाव से बनते हैं (अक्सर हाथों या पैरों पर), या रूपक रूप में भावनात्मक कठोरता/संवेदनहीनता से है जिसमें सहानुभूति कम दिखती है।
