Definition
A calcinator is a furnace, kiln, or industrial unit (or sometimes the operator of such equipment) used to calcine materials—heating them strongly below their melting point to remove water or carbon dioxide and change their chemical structure, e.g., in cement, lime, alumina, or metallurgical processing.
