Origin & History
From Middle English brace, from Old French brace ("two arms"), ultimately from Latin bracchia (plural of bracchium, "arm"); the sense of a support comes from the idea of an "arm" or brace holding something firm.
मध्य अंग्रेज़ी brace से, पुरानी फ़्रेंच brace (अर्थ: "दो बाँहें") के माध्यम से, और अंततः लैटिन bracchia (bracchium का बहुवचन, अर्थ: "बाँह") से; सहारे/मज़बूती वाला अर्थ इस विचार से विकसित हुआ कि "बाँह" की तरह यह किसी चीज़ को थामकर स्थिर रखता है।
Definition
Braces are supportive or corrective devices; most commonly, they refer to orthodontic appliances fixed to the teeth to straighten and align them, and can also mean shoulder straps (suspenders) used to hold up trousers, or structural supports that strengthen a frame.
