From Latin auricula, diminutive of auris (“ear”), used in anatomical Latin and later in scientific English.
लैटिन auricula से, जो auris (“कान”) का लघुरूप है; यह शब्द शारीरिक-विज्ञान की लैटिन परंपरा से होकर बाद में वैज्ञानिक अंग्रेज़ी में प्रचलित हुआ।
Definition
Auricula is used in anatomy for the outer ear and also for an ear-shaped pouch on the atrium of the heart; in botany it can name a primrose species (Primula auricula), and in palynology it can refer to a localized thickening in a trilete spore.
Auricula शब्द का प्रयोग शरीर-विज्ञान में कान के बाहरी दिखाई देने वाले भाग के लिए तथा हृदय के आलिंद (atrium) पर स्थित कान-जैसे छोटे उभार/थैली (appendage) के लिए होता है; वनस्पति-विज्ञान में यह सजावटी प्रिमरोज़ (Primula auricula) का नाम भी है, और पराग/बीजाणु-विज्ञान में यह त्रिलेते बीजाणु के कोने पर होने वाली मोटाई (thickening) के लिए भी प्रयुक्त हो सकता है।
