From Latin arte factum (“something made with skill”), via Latin ars (“art, skill”) + factum (“a thing done/made”); modern English artifact (also artefact), plural artifacts.

Definition
Artifacts are things created or shaped by people (especially historically or archaeologically important objects), and the word is also used for false or distorted features caused by a process or error (like an X-ray, microscope slide preparation, or image/audio compression).
Artifacts वे वस्तुएँ हैं जो मनुष्य द्वारा बनाई या तराशी गई हों (विशेषकर ऐतिहासिक/पुरातात्त्विक महत्व की वस्तुएँ); यह शब्द उन झूठी/कृत्रिम संरचनाओं या विकृतियों के लिए भी प्रयुक्त होता है जो किसी प्रक्रिया या त्रुटि से पैदा हों (जैसे एक्स-रे, माइक्रोस्कोप स्लाइड की तैयारी, या इमेज/ऑडियो कंप्रेशन)।
