Definition
An arteriole is a very small blood vessel that branches from an artery and carries blood to the capillary network; its muscular walls can constrict or dilate to control local blood flow and systemic blood pressure.
आर्टिरिओल (धमनिका) धमनियों की बहुत छोटी शाखा वाली रक्त-नली होती है जो रक्त को केशिकाओं (कैपिलरी) तक पहुँचाती है; इसकी मांसपेशीय दीवारें सिकुड़ या फैल सकती हैं, जिससे स्थानीय रक्त प्रवाह और समग्र रक्तचाप नियंत्रित होता है।
