From radar display nomenclature where lettered 'scopes' (A-, B-, C-scope, etc.) denote different CRT presentations; 'A' refers to an amplitude (A) display showing echo strength versus time/range, used widely in mid-20th-century radar systems.
रडार डिस्प्ले नामकरण से, जहाँ A-, B-, C-scope आदि अक्षर-आधारित 'स्कोप' अलग-अलग CRT प्रस्तुतियों को दर्शाते हैं; 'A' को 'अम्प्लीट्यूड' (A) डिस्प्ले के रूप में लिया जाता है जो समय/रेंज के मुकाबले प्रतिध्वनि की तीव्रता दिखाता है, और इसका व्यापक उपयोग 20वीं सदी के मध्य के रडार प्रणालियों में हुआ।
Definition
An A-scope is a type of radar/oscilloscope presentation in which the horizontal axis represents time (and therefore range), while the vertical deflection represents the strength (amplitude) of received echoes; it is used to measure target distance and compare echo intensities.
A-scope रडार/ऑस्सिलोस्कोप का एक प्रदर्शन होता है जिसमें क्षैतिज अक्ष समय (और परिणामस्वरूप दूरी/रेंज) दर्शाता है तथा ऊर्ध्वाधर विचलन प्राप्त प्रतिध्वनियों की शक्ति (एम्प्लीट्यूड) दिखाता है; इसका उपयोग लक्ष्य की दूरी नापने और प्रतिध्वनि की तीव्रता की तुलना करने में होता है।
