top (উপরের) + coat (কোট/আবরণ) থেকে গঠিত; পরে রঙ/বার্নিশের ‘coat’ (স্তর) ধারণার সাথে তুলনা করে ‘শেষ আবরণ/স্তর’ অর্থও গড়ে ওঠে।
Definition
Topcoats are outer coats worn over regular clothes—often in cold or wet weather—and the word can also mean the final protective layer applied over a surface (such as a paint topcoat).
টপকোট হলো সাধারণ পোশাকের ওপর পরা বাইরের কোট—বিশেষ করে ঠান্ডা বা ভেজা আবহাওয়ায়—এবং এই শব্দটি কোনো পৃষ্ঠের ওপর লাগানো শেষ সুরক্ষামূলক আবরণ/স্তর (যেমন রঙের টপকোট) বোঝাতেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।
