ফরাসি retable থেকে এসেছে; মধ্যযুগীয় লাতিন retabulum/retabula (অর্থ: বেদির পেছনে স্থাপিত অলংকারময় কাঠামো) থেকে উদ্ভূত।
Definition
Retables are ornamental panels, screens, or architectural frameworks placed behind (and sometimes above) a church altar, commonly featuring carvings, sculptures, or paintings of religious scenes or saints.
রিটেবল হলো গির্জার বেদির পেছনে (এবং কখনও উপরে) স্থাপিত অলংকারময় প্যানেল/পরদা বা স্থাপত্য কাঠামো, যেখানে সাধারণত ধর্মীয় দৃশ্য, সাধুদের মূর্তি, খোদাই বা চিত্র অঙ্কিত থাকে।
