ইংরেজি pledge + holder থেকে গঠিত; আইন ও আর্থিক প্রেক্ষিতে বন্ধক/জামানত রাখা সম্পদ যে পক্ষ জিম্মায় রাখে তাকে বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত (আইনি পরিভাষা pledgee-এর সমান্তরাল)।
Definition
A pledgeholder is the lender or secured party who keeps the pledged item (collateral) until the borrower repays the debt or fulfills the obligation; if the borrower defaults, the pledgeholder may have legal rights to sell or otherwise realize the security.
pledgeholder হলো ঋণদাতা বা নিরাপত্তাধিকারী পক্ষ, যে ঋণ বা দায়বদ্ধতা পূরণ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত জামানত/বন্ধক হিসেবে দেওয়া সম্পদ (collateral) নিজের জিম্মায় রাখে; ঋণগ্রহীতা খেলাপ করলে pledgeholder-এর আইনি অধিকার থাকতে পারে সেই জামানত বিক্রি বা অন্যভাবে মূল্যায়ন (realize) করার।
