Formed by adding the prefix ‘non-’ (meaning ‘not’ or ‘without’) to ‘hematography’ (itself based on Greek ‘haima/haemato-’ = blood + ‘-graphy’ = writing, recording, imaging). The resulting coinage ‘nonhematography’ would literally mean ‘not blood-recording or not blood-imaging’, but it is not historically attested as a standard term.
