Definition
Neotypy is the act or practice of designating a neotype (a replacement type specimen) to fix the application of a scientific name when the original type material is missing, destroyed, or insufficient for reliable identification.
নিওটাইপি হলো নিওটাইপ (মূল টাইপ নমুনার বিকল্প টাইপ নমুনা) নির্ধারণ বা ঘোষণা করার প্রক্রিয়া, যা মূল টাইপ উপাদান হারিয়ে গেলে, নষ্ট হলে, বা নির্ভরযোগ্য শনাক্তকরণের জন্য অপর্যাপ্ত হলে বৈজ্ঞানিক নামের প্রয়োগ স্থির/নিশ্চিত করতে ট্যাক্সোনমিতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
