Formed in modern technical English by adding the negative prefix “in-” to “optimizable,” which itself comes from “optimize” (to make as effective or functional as possible) plus the adjective-forming suffix “-able.” Ultimately, “optimize” is from Latin “optimus,” meaning “best.” The word is rare and mainly used in computing, mathematics, and engineering contexts.
