সংস্কৃত ‘ভুক্তি’ (ভুজ্ ধাতু থেকে), যার অর্থ ভোগ/উপভোগ; পরবর্তীতে বাংলা ও অন্যান্য ভারতীয় ভাষায় ভোগ, দখল বা অধিকারভুক্ত অংশ—এই অর্থে বিস্তৃত ব্যবহার পেয়েছে

From Sanskrit ‘भुक्ति (bhukti)’ (from the root ‘भुज् (bhuj-)’), meaning enjoyment/consumption; later it developed extended usage in Bengali and other Indian languages to denote enjoyment as well as possession or an entitled share
