কোনো দেশ/অঞ্চল বা জনসমষ্টিতে নির্দিষ্ট সময়সীমায় কতজন শিশু জন্ম নিচ্ছে তা মাপার হার; সাধারণত প্রতি ১,০০০ জনসংখ্যায় বছরে জীবিত জন্মের সংখ্যা (জন্মহার) বা প্রতি নারীর গড় সন্তানসংখ্যা (মোট প্রজননহার) হিসেবে প্রকাশ করা হয়
