আবহাওয়াবিজ্ঞানে নিম্নচাপ বলতে এমন একটি অঞ্চলকে বোঝায় যেখানে আশপাশের তুলনায় বায়ুচাপ কম থাকে; ফলে বাতাস চারদিক থেকে ওই অঞ্চলের দিকে প্রবাহিত হয় এবং প্রায়ই মেঘ, বৃষ্টি বা ঝড়ের সম্ভাবনা বাড়ে
