যে বস্তু বা যন্ত্রাংশ ঘূর্ণন/আবর্ত সৃষ্টি করে বা নিজে ঘুরে শক্তি/গতিকে রূপান্তর করে—যেমন পাখা, টারবাইন, ইমপেলর ইত্যাদির আবর্তমান অংশ—তাকে ‘ঘূর্ণক’ বলা হয়
