বাংলা 'দূরত্ব' (দূর + -ত্ব) শব্দের সঙ্গে বিমূর্ততা/গুণবাচক প্রত্যয় '-তা' যুক্ত হয়ে 'দূরত্বতা' গঠিত; ব্যবহার অপেক্ষাকৃত বিরল এবং প্রায়ই 'দূরত্ব' বা 'দূরত্ববোধ' এর সমার্থে ব্যবহৃত
